This week our external minister just
displayed the kind of mind-set which can only appreciated and nurtured by the
congress. He made a distasteful and an condemnable statement by calling the PM nominee
of BJP “Nipunsak” i.e. an impotent. Must say that Congress has displayed
remarkable graciousness in in its public discourse unlike anybody else!! I
wonder if Rahul Gandhi realizes what these statements by Salman Khurshid, Mani Shankar Aiyar
are doing to Congress' chances. It's almost sabotage. This gutter mouth
minister claims to be a law graduate from Oxford. Wonder why did he go to Oxford? If he had to speak
such nonsense, Lovely Professional University would've been enough. Save money
too.
Before I tear into this hakim baba let
me take you back into history. The UPA started with Natwar Singh in 2004 (no
one remember him now), He was one of the family faithful and Nehruvian commissar,
He was the external minister even during Rajiv & Indira Gandhi’s time. He was
shunted out by congress following a controversy over his alleged involvement in
the United Nations Iraqi Oil scandal. The Independent Inquiry Committee under Paul Volcker had reported on October 27, 2005 that he and
his son Jagat Singh were non-contractual beneficiaries of the Oil for Food Programme.
His son is now a BJP MLA in Rajasthan. Later Pranab Mukherjee held the job
briefly but let everybody know his heart was not in it. Then comes S.M.
Krishna, who did the undoable and unforgettable, first for India’s diplomacy by
picking up the Portuguese foreign minister’s speech at the UN General Assembly
and continuing to read it until a distraught Hardeep Puri (then our ambassador
to the UN and now in the BJP) nudged and saved him and us from further
embarrassment. But in the first place Krishna was not given the job because he
was most suited for it. It was offered to him only to keep him out of
Karnataka. Between rebuilding the party in that crucial state and leading
India’s foreign policy, just shows the Congress parties and its priorities on
international affairs. Then come’s this hakim baba Salman Khurshid. After the
UP debacle, it seems he wanted to leave the cabinet and help Rahul Gandhi with
party work and the prime minister wanted a law minister of his choosing. The
most convenient thing was to move Khurshid from law to external affairs. Again
nations interest was compromised just accommodate a sulking and reluctant
minister. On such profound considerations were the members of the UPA’s were chosen.
It must be our funniest government ever. The way Sonia sidelined the prime
minister and kicking its nobodies upstairs to the most exalted decision-making
body of all. Until recently many may not even be conscious that he is
our external affairs minister, and not a sex and virility specialist. He has
ably carried forward his predecessor S.M. Krishna’s tradition of reducing this
to the office of India’s chief consular officer, who competes for airtime with
the ministry’s spokesman any time an Indian student is beaten up in Australia
or a maid dares to complain against her boss in an Indian mission.
Mr. Khurshid now please let the nation
know who is an impotent. Just by felling the tremors of Narender Modi’s arrival
you start formulating a third front, secular front, federal front and what not
you call him an impotent? Mr. Khurshid let me explain you who are impotent.
Impotent is one who steals grants & money meant for physically challenged
and special people. An impotent government is yours under whose nose Pakistan’s
army comes and beheads our soldiers and you offer biryani and kebabs in return.
An impotent government like yours offers citizenship to illegal migrants from
Bangladesh just because they will vote for you. Impotent government is yours which
does not even raise its voice when China comes and takes clam over Arunachal
when Sri Lankan navy kills our fishermen and you fail to secure them. An impotent
government like yours sends two convicted Italian marines back to their country
because they want to celebrate Christmas and then they later refuse to come
back. It’s only when the Supreme Court and Dr. Subramanian Swami intervention that
they came back. Till then the government was left helpless and red faced. Mr.
Khurshid impotent is your government which in the last 10 years was responsible
for pillage of Indian Economy and which did nothing to avoid it, impotency is
when the young men and women are jobless and all you do is offer lullabies’ to them.
Impotent is one who has the worst record in providing safety to women. Delhi is
called the rape capital in case you don’t know. Impotency is when you feed
terrorist like Kasab and Afzal guru for years hang them just before the
assembly elections. Impotent is your government which wants to bring in bills
to sabotage and muscle the social media because you don’t have the spine to
tolerate criticism. Mr. Khurshid why don’t you prove your potency by asking your
Vice President to take on Modi directly? How do you justify your potency by
dividing the state of Andhra Pradesh just before elections? Why doesn’t Rahul Gandhi come to Andhra
Pradesh for campaigning? An impotent government is one who harasses honest
bureaucrats like Ashok Khemka and Durga Nagpal because they have taken over
your Presidents Son in laws un-law full activities?
Mr. Khurshid just being an Oxford
graduate does not make one potent or impotent. You just proved that commonsense
does not necessarily come along with a degree from Oxford. Potency lies
in civility, in your language, and your conduct. Let there be some dignity in
the way you take on opponents, just by calling names and medical reports you don’t
become potent.
